Digipoort Migration Program: Newsletter 1, July 5th 2019

Customs takes over services for Digipoort Handel (Trade) & Transport and Single Window for maritime and air from Logius.

The contract with the Digipoort supplier will end in the year 2020. From that moment on, Customs will take over the electronic messaging for logistic flows and the Single Window flows between business and government from Logius. The content of the messaging will not change as a result, however companies will have to deal with changes to IP addresses and e-mail addresses.

Many companies use Digipoort Handel & Transport. Through this electronic mailbox they exchange information with Customs, the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority, The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, The harbour Police and the Port Authorities. This concerns all messages and notifications concerning the logistic flows trade and transport, and all messages and notifications with respect to Single Window for maritime and air.
Over the next few months, Customs will be working on a new gate facility: the Trade & Transport Gateway, simply HTG. As soon as this is tested, stable and available, the Digipoort users will be connected. First up are the authorities who collect information and then the companies will follow. Subsequently Customs takes over the management of the system from Logius. Obviously this goes in good consultation and close cooperation. The expectation is that the first customers will be able to connect to the HTG as of December 2019; all users must be connected no later than June 30th 2020.

The transition process from Digipoort to H&T Gateway has 3 plateaus:

  • plateau 1: transition from the logistical flows from Customs
  • plateau 2: transition of Single Windows flows from the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, Harbour Police and Port Authorities.
  • plateau 3: transition from the logistical flows from the Dutch food and Consumer product Safety Authority.

Customs has composed a program team to prepare for the implementation and management of the HTG. The team will also ensure that the business and the authorities are inconvenienced as little as possible by the operation.

In August 2019 you will receive the next newsletter, in which you will learn more about the connection process. Customs intends to have regional information meetings regarding the transition from Digipoort to the HTG.
