Indication of the transport period in an NCTS declaration

When making a Customs transit declaration, a final transport period must be specified. According to the Customs Manual, this transport period may ‘not exceed the time needed to reach the Office of Destination’. The transport period is a minimum of 1 day and a maximum of 30 days. If you specify a transport period longer than 30 days, the latest transport date is automatically reset to 1 day. This may cause problems when the shipment is presented at the Office of Destination.
