In some cases, the EMCS emergency procedure applies to certain destinations

Recently, there have been problems in France concerning the EMCS/Excise Goods Transport process.

  1. If you are a Dutch Registered Consignee expecting excise goods movements from France, this may cause problems.
The French Consignor must then follow the emergency procedure
  2. If you experience problems with excise goods movements with DTC6 Export, where France is the Member State of export, you are requested to use the emergency procedure.
  3. It may be that the receipt report for a shipment where France is the Member State of dispatch it cannot be processed automatically.
In such cases, you, as the Dutch consignee, must use the emergency procedure.
  4. For excise goods shipments between you and your French consignee or consignor, we advise you or your shipper not to choose a different destination code that does not apply to your excise goods movement.

You can read how to follow the emergency procedure in the EMCS manual
