Value XXX from NCTS code list 296 no longer valid.

Since 1 August 2025, code XXX in code list 296 (specific circumstance indicator) is no longer valid.

This also means that outgoing shipments in which this code has been used and which are now arriving at their destination will be rejected.

In such cases, you will not receive a return message, because the messages between the office of departure and the office of destination will be rejected.

If you use this code in a departure declaration (IE015), the declaration will be rejected with an IE906 message.
Since 1 August, the only value in code list 296 that is still valid is the value A20.
If you do not use the A20 procedure, you must leave this optional field blank.

If the above situation applies to you, you can use the emergency destination procedure.

Unfortunately, we were unable to inform you of this change in the code lists earlier.
We apologise for the inconvenience.
