Repost: Digipoort Migration Program: Newsletter 7 d.d. July, 14 2020

Digipoort Migration Program
Newsletter 14th of July 2020

The users of the Digipoort Trade and Transport and Single Window for maritime and air are connected to the gateway facility for electronic messaging between business and government: the Trade & Transport Gateway (HTG).

In this last newsletter we complete the communication concerning the Digipoort HTG migration program. We look back at the progress of this extensive project. In addition you will be informed about the regular management of the HTG.

Why a new gateway for electronic messaging?
The contract with the Digipoort supplier will end in 2020. This year, Customs took over the electronic messaging around the logistic flows and the Single Window flow between business and government from Logius. As a result, the messaging did not change in terms of content. However, the business community did have to deal with a limited number of technical adjustments.

How did Customs handle the migration?
For the migration a phased approach was chosen and it existed out of 3 plateaus.
This made it possible to gain experience for the migration and management process in relatively small steps:

  • Plateau 1 was the conversion of the logistic flows for Customs (AGS, CID, EMCS, NCTS);
  • Plateau 2 was the conversion of the Single Window flow for Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, Seaport Police, NCA SafeSeaNet and Customs;
  • Plateau 3 was the conversion of the logistic flows for NVWA (Veterinary, Phytosanitary, Fisheries).

Regular HTG Management
The connection team is now in the after-care phase and is still completing work on the migration.
The realisation and migration have been completed and as a result the operational message flows are now taking place in large volumes via the HTG. Proper management is and will remain very important for this.

With the completion of the project phase, all activities will be taken over by the regular management organisation. Requests for new connections and changes to existing connections to the HTG are dealt with in the regular management process of Customs. Information about the HTG can be found on the National Customs Helpdesk (Nationale Helpdesk Douane) under the heading Trade and Transport Gateway (HTG). The advice is for companies that offer hubs, supply software to third parties or build their own software to visit this page regularly.
You can also request new connections there.
If you have questions and/or problems with new or existing connections, please contact the National Customs Helpdesk 088-1566655 (from Monday to Friday from 07.00 to 17.00 hours). Customs also remains accessible via the e-mail address that was introduced at the start of the migration: douane.dlk.htg@belastingdienst.nl.

Speaking:
Accountmanager Softwaredevelopers Dutch Customs Lup van de Bunt
“The efforts of a large number of software developers have successfully contributed to the realisation of the migration from the Digipoort to the HTG. The experiences of previous implementations and migrations in the business community, the software developers and the authorities involved have also helped. Together with an excellent project team, with specific expertise and process knowledge, this migration was successful.”

Thanks
The Migration Digiport HTG program is being completed. We look back on a successful collaboration. We thank you for your cooperation.
